Mexpro homeowners insurance returns to the Yucatan!
On September 1st, 2019, Mexpro's Grupo Nacional Provincial (GNP) Mexico homeowners insurance became available for homes in the Yucatan!
After four years of negotiations, GNP has removed their coverage moratorium for the Yucatan peninsula, allowing us to offer policies for the area once again, including the option to purchase hurricane coverage (with no storm shutter requirement).

In 2015 when we launched our current Mexico homeowners insurance program with our carrier partner, Grupo Nacional Provincial (GNP), we were saddened to learn they had a moratorium preventing the sale of hydro meteorological (flooding, hurricane, windstorm, etc.) coverage for homes located within Mexico's Yucatan peninsula.
Since then we've been involved in ongoing discussions, in efforts to fulfill the many requests we receive from people seeking reliable insurance coverage for their residences located in the Mexican states of Yucatan, Campeche and Quintana Roo.
After four years of negotiations, in the summer of 2019, at a meeting in Mexico City, GNP informed us they were removing the coverage moratorium.
GNP's approval wasn't the final step to make the coverage available, as our Technology team still needed to complete programming and testing, before making the program live.
Finally, as of the 1st of September, 2019, our GNP Mexico homeowners insurance hurricane coverage is available to purchase for homes in the Yucatan!
