Tour of Guadalajara on Foot
Founded in 1542 the Mexican city of Guadalajara underwent a major modernization in the late 1940s that extended through the 1950s. So, though the town has many historical buildings, it also houses many beautiful plazas, markets and parks.
The Hospicio Cabañas (now the Cabañas Cultural Institute), now a World Heritage Site, stands out as one of the most impressive of the historical buildings in Guadalajara. It houses over fifty murals by Jose Clemente Orozco, as well as being a spectacular architectural effort.
