Venice Beach BirdsTen percent of a total of about 10,000 species of birds on earth are found in Mexico. Many of them migrate to Mexico for the winter to raise their young and feast from the Sea of Cortez.

In Rocky Point there are close to 140 species of birds and all can be found in areas around the Morua Estuary.

In addition, millions of Monarch butterflies fly through on their way to other winter destinations.

Many snow birds--of the feathery kind--choose to winter in Mexico for the same reason we human "Snow Birds" choose to do so...mild climate, ocean, food and beaches.
