As I have mentioned in previous posts, I just visited Creel, Chihuahua during my last trip to Mexico. It is a fantastic little town. It has been designated a "Pueblo Magico" (Magic Town) by the government of Mexico. While it is located within a state that is famous for its vast desert, Creel reminds me of the Colorado mountain town of Trinidad.

Creel is nestled amongst some rocky bluffs that are covered with pine trees. El Cerro de Cristo rises prominently in the northeastern corner of town. The town sits at an elevation of 7,841 feet. The climate of Creel is generally cool and dry due to its high elevation and location. Outdoors men and sightseers will generally encounter conditions favorable for any outdoor activity.
