SENTRI, another of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s Trusted Traveler programs, affects travelers arriving from Mexico by car or boat. The details of that program follow. SENTRI members who are U.S. citizens also are eligible for the TSA’s PreCheck expedited screening program.

The Secure Electronic Network for Travelers Rapid Inspection, or SENTRI, is for land or sea travel between the United States and Mexico. It’s primarily aimed at drivers entering the U.S. at common checkpoints, with the benefit of arrival through a faster-moving SENTRI-specific lane.
